How To Do Vocal Exercises

It is very important for a singer to prepare his/her voice before giving any performance. A singer can give his/her best performance if he/she prepares their voice. This can be achieved by doing some vocal exercises before the commencement of any program. It is very important to do some breathing exercises to tone up the throat and the larynx before giving a public performance. You may start by a forced yawn to warm up your throat. Yawning is a simple exercise that is recommended by every singing school and is taught to the students to make their voice healthy and easy on the ear.

Do not try to overexert your voice or take it too high. Try to practice as much as your voice can take the strain. After doing some yawning you may practice some vowel. Also try to open up your vocal cords by some loud notes. You should feel the resonance on the top of your head. You will feel that your voice is cracking at first but later you will get a smooth singing.

It is recommended that you try to keep the constant flow during exercise. When you breathe or do a breathing exercise, try to take in as much air as you can and your abdominal muscles should move outwards. Keep yourself free from any tension or stress while doing vocal exercise. A healthy mind is in a healthy body and it helps you. Your throat should be moist and well lubricated. Drink more water before giving the performance. Do not eat or drink products that may dry up your throat and may cause problem during singing.

You can make best of your voice by following simple rules and doing simple vocal exercise. After singing you may relax your voice by taking a glass or Luke warm water which may give relief to your voice and feel better.

As you can see, it is not hard to keep a healthy voice and perform well. You can achieve success by taking a little care about your throat and warming up properly.
